Stamford Public Education Foundation
Annual Appeal

We believe in public education. Do you?

Stamford's prosperity is based upon the health and effectiveness of our public schools. Our community is complex and the academic needs are diverse. Ensuring success for all students is challenging and achievable. It takes strong partnerships and active collaboration to lead the way.

To fulfill our mission of promoting and delivering excellence in education for all Stamford Public School students, the Stamford Public Education Foundation (SPEF) is engaged in creating a new strategic, long-range plan. In order to strengthen the resources our district needs to achieve system-wide success, we are leading the collaborative grant application process for the new i3 Federal Department of Education Funding and initiating Partners in Education, our community giving program for small businesses. Our programs, which continue to be aligned with district's goals include:

  • Power Lunch Volunteers from UBS and Pitney Bowes work on-on-one with over a hundred selected students in two elementary schools to improve oral language and reading skills. It's the largest number of continuous volunteer hours of any SPEF-managed partnership program

  • Teaching Excellence With our corporate partners we purchased the technology required to convert 7 ordinary middle school math classrooms into fully equipped Smart Labs (Tablets, LCD Projectors, Smart Boards) serving hundreds of students per day.

  • GE Foundation Developing Futures Conference SPEF is honored to be chosen, year after year, as a partner in this extraordinary nationwide initiative to improve math & science instruction. Six selected communities, including Stamford, send their math & science professionals to learn cutting edge approaches designed to elevate classroom instruction and curriculum.

We ask you to make a charitable donation to SPEF so we can make the investments and connections our schools need and deserve.

Your contribution, regardless of the amount, gives us the privilege of helping our youngest citizens become the best and the brightest they can be.

With sincere thanks for your belief in us!

Barbara Aronica-Buck, Co-president, Eileen Springer, Co-President and Susan Rigano, Executive Director
